Written in strophic-form and using dramatic variation in harmony, composer Michael J. Glasgow celebrates Christ's birth, foreshadows His Crucifixion and Resurrection and interweaves prophesy, doubt, and ultimately, hope. With a nod to tradition, the final descant begins with a sketch around the carol “Gesu Bambino”, a nice juxtaposition of something new and something familiar. Winner of the Philip Brunelle/ Vocal Essence “Welcom Christmas!” contest 2009.
