7 July is a public holiday in Japan called Tanabata, which is celebrated with great festivities throughout the country. It goes back to a legend according to which a young man and a young woman, who are separated from each other by the Milky Way, are only allowed to see each other on this one night. Itaru Sakai set this romantic legend to music in THE SEVENTH NIGHT OF JULY.
